By Pam Lester Craft: Balloon Person
Activities: Balloon Hot Potato, Homemade Bubble Makers, Balloon Eggs, Tarp Toss
Snack: Balloon Snack
Reading Selection: Bubbles, Bubbles by Kathi Appelt Craft
Balloon Person
Need:
# Balloon
# construction paper
# tape
# yarn
# markers Blow up the balloon to make a small head. Cut out an outfit for the body(one piece). Take strips of paper and fold accordian style to make legs and arms. Tape the arms and legs to the outfit. Then make shoes and glue on to the bottom of the feet. Trace the child's hands, cut out and glue to the end of the arms. Draw a face on the balloon and attach yarn or crete paper with tape for the head. Also, attach a long piece of yarn to the top so you can hang it up!! Activities/Games
Balloon Hot Potato
Need:
# Water balloons
# water
# swimming pool (optional) Fill balloons with water, tie end. Have children gather in a circle. Carefully poke several (4-6) holes in the balloon. Children will pass the balloon around the circle, trying not to be the one holding the balloon when it runs out of water! To make it even more fun, especially if there are more than 6 children, have them pass 2-3 balloons at the same time. If you are playing near a pool or lake, the child who is holding a balloon when it empties has to jump in! Make sure to dispose of deflated balloons. Homemade Bubble Makers
Need:
# home items such as:
# string
# straws
# coathangers
# plastic six pack holders.
# Liquid diswashing soap and water Using just two straws and string, you can make a simple bubble maker. Just tie a piece of string through two straws to make a collapsible frame. Holding the straws, dip the frame into the solution of water and dishwashing soap and carefully lift it up and pull it towards you. Flip the frame up or down to break off a bubble.
Another simple bubble maker is made by bending a coathanger into a loop. If you put your bubble solution in a frying pan, the coathanger will fit. Wave your coathanger loop in the air and rotate it to finish a bubble.
Probably the simplest bubble maker of these three is the plastic six pack holder. You don't have to change it at all, just dip it in the solution and wave it around for instant bubbles.
This activity is great for all ages. Children love bubbles and they have fun making their own bubble machines. Challenge your children to come up with inventions for new bubble makers using different objects around the house! Balloon Eggs
Need:
# Balloons
# Paper Mache
# Markers or Crayons Blow up your ballon, put paper mache' around the ballon and let it dry,
When the mache' hardens you have what looks like a large Egg. Decorate with markers or paint. You can even use it as a Pinata! Tarp Toss
Need:
# 1 tarp or blanket
# tennis balls or inflatable balls Have the children each grab an end of the tarp. They each take turns throwing a tennis ball onto it, and shaking (bouncing) it. See how many balls you can toss up without any falling off!
It is a great game if you do not have a parachute. Snack
Balloon Snack
Need:
# Rice cake
# frosting
# food coloring
# string licorice Make colored frosting by adding food coloring to the vanilla frosting. Give each child a rice cake and a small cup with the colored frosting they choose. Let the children use craft sticks to use as spreaders. Have the children decorate their rice cake with frosting. Use the string licorice as the balloon string. You may want to decorate even more with tube icing or other confections. Have fun! Reading Selection:

How to Freelance Well!

By Sami Rathi For both established or a new business; using freelance talent is valuable, cost-effective resource in many circumstances such as..
When client is faced with situation that would benefit from an outsider's perspective. When client's vision is fuzzy as to what needs to be done and in what order of priority. When client's needs are seasonal or they need help with a one-time project. When client's talents can be more effectively used in other parts of the business. When client needs expertise needed to grow quickly without diverting scarce resources from daily tasks.
Understand the perspective of the client to provide these advantages, and you are sure to establish your freelance career successfully. Follow the below four steps about how to freelance well from start to finish and you should have a happy client and a check in your hands. Step-1. Find The Right Freelance Job As a freelance professional with unique skills and expertise, you can find the right freelance job from a number of sources. The optimal solution is to find jobs through referrals -- from your previous clients, another freelancer, or industry contact. If this isn't possible, spread the word through local associations or freelance networks for referrals. The Internet is a good source for online freelance jobs. However, most of these freelance sites work in a reverse auction manner; that is, you bid on the jobs. The bad part about bidding is that it drives the prices way down, so you may not earn well, but it is one way to get started. Step-2. Place Your Freelance Bid
Before you place your freelance bid, you need to know:
What price to bid How to write a winning proposal
As you attempt to create an attractive, profitable, and competitive bid price, there are certain specific questions that you should ask yourself. These include:
Have you done similar work in the past? If so, simply base your bid on the amount you've received previously. What is the going rate for such a project with large firms, professional organizations, or colleagues in the same industry? How long will the project take you? Use your standard hourly rate, and calculate how long it will take you to finish the project. Multiply the time by the rate to come up with a total estimated project amount.
No matter how you come up with your price, if the employer has left an estimated budget, make sure to use this as a guideline to determine your price for the project. Step-3. Manage Your Freelance Projects
Track Time For several reasons, it is important to use the time log accurately. First and foremost, your client might expect you to break down your hours for him so they are aware of where their money is going. Secondly, in order to increase your productivity, examining where your time is being spent is essential. After freelancing for a while you will be able to figure out how much to bid on projects easily from experience. Open Up A Docket A docket is a huge envelope or sleeve to keep all papers together. Nothing looks worse than going to a meeting with a client and forgetting essential paperwork. In order to escape this possibility, I suggest using a docket for each individual project. New Customer? If this client is working with you for the first time you should start an information sheet on him or her. You might not think that this is important, but if this client ends up being a dead beat, you will be glad to have his or her address and phone number. After you have completed this form, place it in your docket. Schedule Stages Of A Job Start every job with a piece of paper. List steps that need to be involved in order finish production. Otherwise, you might get stuck with having to go backwards three steps in order to go forwards again. Sometimes stages of a project will need to be reworked because you didn't take the time to write down your game plan. Try not to let this happen to you. Contract Protect yourself against problem clients by writing a contract
Step-4. Provide Your Freelance Professional Service
Get complete background information Ask the client to provide the resources and information needed that will allow you (the freelancer) to hit the ground running. Be clear on details What are the start and finish dates? When and how should you contact the client? At what key points the client want to be involved? Establish interim checkpoints This ensures the project stays on target and allows your client to monitor its progress. Discuss schedules Make sure the client is accessible when needed. Be timely in submitting work for approval. Money-Matters Keep your bid price in sight at all times.

Need an Unsecured Tenant Loan without Collateral?

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=James_Taylor]James Taylor Being called a tenant may affect you very much when you are performing the role of a borrower looking for a loan. Lenders of standard loans generally hesitate to offer their money to a tenant. This is due to the reason that there no security for the loan amount. But you need not to worry as this is only the single side of the story the other side is that tenants can also get financed through unsecured tenant loans. Unsecured tenant loans or unsecured loans are loans for people who dont have their own property or home to offer as security or collateral. These people include tenants, students, PGs or people who live with their parents and dont have their own home. The best way to apply for an unsecured tenant loan these days is to apply online. Online applying is subjected to faster approvals. With the help of following steps you can easily apply for an unsecured tenant loan: Get a computer with internet connection. Visit websites of numerous online lenders. Search priority should be given to reputed and trusted lenders. Take the help of services such as loan calculators, repayment tables etc. Compare different lenders on the basis of their loan quotes through comparison tools. Fill in the simple application with the appropriate information (like name of the borrower, address and contact information, amount of loan you are looking for, your credit score etc). Wait for the lender to contact you with his services once he is satisfied with your application. Your credit score plays a vital role in getting approval of an unsecured loan. It is the only thing for the interest of the lender to offer his money as there is no collateral. A lender can even deny a person with bad credit history. With increase in competition in the market some lenders are also providing loans to people with bad credit history. But you need to do some hard work in form of shopping for loans to find such lenders. Unsecured tenant loans range from ₤500 to ₤15000 and can go higher under certain circumstances. The repayment term generally lies between 6 months to 1 year can extent up to 5 years. These loans come at slightly higher rate of interest as they are not secured. You can use the loan amount for any of your personal purpose like buying property, home improvement, health and education etc. Most of the lenders will not ask you the purpose of taking the loan so you can use money the way you like. 2 Step Marketing

By Joy Gendusa Do it Right. I receive postcards all the time. The other day I received a postcard trying to sell me a copy machine. It had tiny, tiny lettering slathered all over the front and a large portion of the back of the card. It was extremely hard to read, so hard in fact that I threw it away. Several days later I received a postcard with 32 words on it telling me that I could get complete information on unrestricted long distance telephone service for 5.5 cents a minute with no additional monthly fee by calling the 800 number on the card. I did call. I got the information, had my questions answered and ordered my long distance service changed. The company who offered me the long distance service was using a time tested 2 step selling process: Step 1. Generate a lead - Get me to call their 800 number. Step 2. Provide the requested information - Provided to me on the phone by one of their sales representatives, who was able to answer my questions and make me feel confident that I could save quite a bit of money on my long distance bill and that the service would be as good or better. What's So Good About 2 Steps?
It is much easier to create interest (a lead) than it is to get a person through an entire buying process (a sale). You aren't getting the prospect or existing customer to part with any money just yet. You can use postcards to inexpensively promote to your target prospects and customers and generate leads (inquiries about your products and services) to then be followed up on and converted to sales. This 2 step process also helps you to create a list of people who were interested enough in what you offered to contact you. You can then recontact the one's who you didn't complete a sale with when they first inquired, preferably until they do buy from you. IMPORTANT: Be sure to get the information you will need to recontact the people who responded to your postcard offering. Repetitive follow-ups with the people who contacted you will result in increased sales. Make it a company policy to follow up with those people who contacted you about your products and services. The Most Effective Use of Postcards:
The purpose of your postcard's message is to generate a sufficient level of interest in the mind of your prospect to get him/her to contact you to ask you about your offer. You are generating interest, not collecting their money (not yet anyway). That is what the 2 step marketing process is about. Generating interested prospects and customers who contact you for more information. Your message needs 3 parts to be most effective: 1. A clear statement of the biggest benefit of your product or service (in the long distance example, it was cost savings). 2. A good reason for them to contact you NOW. 3. A simple, easy way for them to respond (an 800 number for example). Your message should be short and to the point. Short messages on postcards produce more leads than long ones. For example: Call 800-555-1212 for Your Copy of Our Free Report: What 99% of Business Owners Don't Know and Will Never Find Out About Using Postcards to Explode Their Profits Offer ends 5-5-01 (Print a date 3 weeks from your mailing date to create some urgency) Lots of people will respond to find out what they might not know. Don't forget, they responded, which is proof they have at least some interest in the information you have created a curiosity about. This method works and is sure to produce a large number of inquiries if sent to your proper market. This 2 Step Marketing Process Works.
Use the tips you have read here to create your next postcard's message and see what happens. You will generate a bunch of leads from people who are truly interested in your products and services. Joy Gendusa founded PostcardMania in 1998; her only assets a computer and a phone. In 2004 the company did close to $9 million in sales and employs over 60 persons. Ever Wonder What Can Blow Up And Wreck Your Love?

By Melody C Not many people know about the hidden power struggles that
can occur in a relationship or marriage. This article is
about a hidden powerstruggle known as rhythms. Every person
has their own unique rhythm whether that is how they eat,
sleep, work, relax, or even think and breathe. However, in our society, we have been taught to assume to
everyone is alike, or that there is a specific way that
everyone needs to go about their day in order to strive and
be successful. This can cause a powerstruggle in a
relationship in two ways. 1) Each partner will think that the other person has the
same rhythm as them, so if they are not doing things the
same way as them they are either doing things wrong or
intentially trying to resist them. 2) If the partners are trying to copy the other persons
rhythm, it will be not in their highest and best interest.
They will not be productive or be in a healthy lifestyle
for the individual, which leads to powerstruggles anyway. This article is to bring attention to some of the less well
known types of rhythms in a relationship.
Our first is what I will call a task accomplishment rhythm.
In our work, we teach individuals and couples something
similar called workstyles which are ways how people like to
carry out their work or activities such as Guideline people
who need a basic guideline or structure 24 hours a day or
Employee people who like to go by other peoples rules for a
certain portion of the day, then the rest of the time they
go by their own rules. For task accomplishment rhythms, I will use Rob, my Life
Partner (who is also the Director/Counsellor for the Life
Management Centre/ LMC Relationship Centre and Co-author of
Love by Design) and myself as an example. When Rob is accomplishing tasks throughout his day, he likes
to do a whole bunch of tasks, one after the other, nonstop
without any breaks. Then stop for the day. I on the other
hand, although having an Employee Workstyle, while I am
actually working for or with the other person, like to work
for a while, take a break, work for a while, take a break
etc. In the beginning of our relationship, there was an
unconscious powerstruggle, mostly felt by me because I
couldnt keep up the same momentum as Rob, especially if we
had been out shopping or in public, I would have to have
rest and recoup before I could charge into the next task at
hand. I would get really tired and uncomfortable, and Rob
would feel my resistance. That didnt last for long though, as soon as I recognized
that my rhythm was different than Robs, I brought it to his
attention. I accepted that my rhythm is different than his
and he has incorporated my rhythm into his schedule, so I
can rest in peace, and then join him again in our tasks. The
good news is that I was just as productive as Rob, as long
as I kept true to myself and my rhythm. Another example of a rhythm is that people have different
speech patterns, speed and rhythms. Rob had a couple come in
to see him once, were the couple was having a communication
problem. The wife talked a mile a minute; the husband talked very
slowly and paused a lot when talking. The wife often cut him
off, between pauses, the husband often feeling offended by
being interrupted all the time and the wife always felt like
they werent getting anywhere in their communication. Would
you believe the powerstruggle was there simply because they
werent aware that they had different speaking rhythms? As
soon as Rob pointed this out to them, and taught them how to
understand, appreciate and not be in nonresistance to their
rhythm their communication greatly improved. The wife,
especially learned to be aware of the husbands pause, and
that the pause didnt mean he was finished talking. There are many other types of rhythms out there that will be
unique to you and to you partner. Your assignment, if you
choose to accept it, is to be aware of your feelings. If you
ever feel like you are in resistance to your partner, such
as feeling angry, a drop of energy or the need to dig your
heels in, be on the look out and feel out for a
potential rhythm that may be different. Next, bring you partner into awareness, then accept, and
appreciate both your partners and your own unique rhythms.
With acceptance, nonresistance and being authentic, you will
find that not only will the resistance fade away, both of
your fill be at you fullest, and highest and best capacity
in all areas of your lives. Melody Chase is the co-author of "The Ultimate Love By Design Relationship -

How to Get the Job You Want in Any Economy... Act Like a Headhunter

By Mike Nacke Having spent the last few years of my career in the staffing and recruiting industry, Im asked all the time by friends and relatives if I can help them find a more desirable job. Ive helped my fianc get a job, helped my college buddies get jobs after graduation, and even helped a few high school buddies find jobs having not seen them for years. Its a real joy in recruiting when you can help someone find a job that positively impacts their life. But the fact of the matter is, not everyone has the opportunity to work with a headhunter. I would say that only a small percentage of career moves are made at the hand of a headhunter. So what do the rest of us do when we find ourselves in a dead end situation and no one to conduct the hunt for you? Ive heard lots of gimmicks, tricks, and tactics for aiding the process and Im sure youve heard a few yourself. Do any of these ring a bell? Sending out resumes on extra thick paper, memorizing the most dazzling answers to commonly asked interview questions, wearing a brightly colored outfit to your interview to be memorable, and the list goes on and on. I honestly dont know if any of these things help or hinder the hiring process, but I do know that Ive never met a professional headhunter that coaches his candidates by taking them shopping at Old Navy and picking out the seasons brightest colors to wear to an upcoming interview. So what things do professional headhunters do that puts them in the position to move CEOs from one company to another and get paid to do it. Here are the top 5 things that top dog headhunters do in the search and placement process that you can incorporate to your own job search tomorrow. 1. Network Now I know youve heard this one a million times before, but the first thing that a headhunter does in the morning is make 20 calls to people they know and find out where the jobs are. Only the rookies wake up every morning with nothing more to look forward to than a few dozen agonizing cold calls. Youre probably thinking to yourself Who do I know that I could talk to about finding a jobI dont know anyone. Well, in headhunting 101 you learn that its not who you know that matters, its who they (your contacts) know that counts. Its okay to call every person you know and tell them youre looking for a new job. Everyone excluding your boss and the other people at your office of course. Make a list of 100 people that you know, pick up the phone, and start talking to people. Ask them if they know of any companies hiring people in your area of expertise. If they dont, ask them if who they know that might know of some openings. Let me give you a tip about how to supercharge your networking. Pick up the book The Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell. In it, he describes three types of people in social circles. One of those types is called a connector. This is the type of person that seems to know everyone. I bet if you think about it, you probably know one or two people that everywhere you go with them, they know someone. Well, every person on your list knows one or two connectors and if you ask the question who do you know that might know of something?, youre bound to run into a few of these extraordinarily well connected people. Your network stops when you stop asking who they know. 2. Email Everyone on Your List This is similar to networking, but you have to take a different approach when networking through email. Heres a strategy that I have found to be pretty effective. First, an example of what that email might look like. Dear John, Not sure if youve heard, but Ive recently started looking for a new career. I wanted to see if you could help me with this arduous process. As you know, I have been with PrideStaff doing Business Development (or whatever it is you do) for the last two years. It has been a good experience and I have been given several promotions and opportunities along the way. However, I seem to have run into a glass ceiling and dont see any more opportunity for advancement here. Im writing to ask two things. First, if you know of any openings in my area of expertise, at your company or at any other that you know of, I would greatly appreciate any referral you could give me. Second, if there is anyone you know that might have knowledge of any openings in Business Development, I would really appreciate if you would forward this email to them along with my resume that I have attached. John, any help you could give would be greatly appreciated. Let me know if there is any way I can reciprocate. Warmest Regards,
Mike Nacke
Director or Business Development
PrideStaff The reason this email is so effective is because it conveys warmth, it details your credentials, and it directly asks for referrals. Feel free to use this email yourself, just make sure you insert your own name and credentials before sending it out. 3. Harness the Power of the Internet One of the most tedious and frustrating tasks that you do when looking for a job is scouring the internet job boards and corporate web sites looking for new openings. Talk about frustrating. In an intensive job search, you should be looking at about 100 different companies that you would like to work for and if youre checking every site daily, thats a lot of wasted time. I know that 100 might sound a little high, but by utilizing a few online tools, you can easily keep up with the activity of well over 100 companies. To accomplish the 100 company mark, first determine the industries youre interested in. Most of you probably want to stay in the industry youre in right now, but if youre thinking of changing, understand that this is a very challenging move because direct industry experience is the #1 factor headhunters use when moving people from one company to another. After determining what industries you would like to work in, find out their SIC code listing and cross reference that to find all the companies in the city that are operating under that SIC code. If youve never done this before, you may have to do a little homework, but it should provide a good company list to start with. There is a more recent industry classification system known as the NAICS codes that you can use as well, just stick to the one youre more comfortable with. If youve chosen a few industries and utilized one of the code systems to find a cross section of companies in town, you should have a substantial list of companies that will be the foundation of your search. With your list of companies in hand, check out a web site called ChangeNotes.com. It is a free web site that monitors changes on any site that you ask it to. Now look up the career pages of the 100 companies that you are interested in and have ChangeNotes monitor the sites for you. You will receive a daily email of changes on those pages and wont have to go to all 100 sites every night to make sure you always have up to date information. You know have daily information coming to you about any job opening at your top 100 prospects. 4. Call Hiring Managers Directly Once you actually find an job opening, its not enough to send a few resumes and wait by the phone. Youve got to get on the phone with the company receptionist and figure out who the hiring manager is for the position. Dont act aggressive, but be confident, firm, and respectful. These people get calls all day from salesmen that think the way to deal with them is to bully their way through to get the information they want. Youd be surprised how much someone will tell you if you just ask nice. If you want more information about some techniques that the big boys use to get information about a company, check out my article entitled Sourcing 101: How to Get Information and Find Top Talent in any Company. Once youve figured out who the hiring manager is, give him a call and pitch your credentials. Let him know that youre extremely interested in the position and you wouldnt be calling if you werent convinced youre the right person for the job. 5. Upload your Resume to Every Relevant Job Board Many headhunters will tell you that advertising online and using massive internet job boards is a waste of time, but I know plenty of recruiters that regularly conduct searches primarily using online job boards. By now, you shouldve polished up your resume and brought it into the twenty first century by having an electronic copy. Now you just need to upload it to the web. I recommend putting it on as many job boards as are relevant to your search. I recently read a statistic that around 70% of recruiters and job seekers are loyal to one job board. That means that if the company youre trying to land a job with is using Career Builder and youre only using Monster, theyre not going to find you. Recruiters have to pay a separate fee to each resume database and because of the sheer number of candidates on each job board, most recruiters are able to find plenty of candidates by using only one source. The big three are Monster, CareerBuilder, and Hotjobs. Start with these three and then start posting to the smaller and more local sites. One word of caution about posting to internet sites. If your search is confidential, only put your first name and last initial on the resume and list your current company as Company Confidential. Dont be afraid to do this, recruiters see it all the time and are able to glean your experience from the industries and titles that you list. Implement these five tips and youll begin seeing a big difference in your job search. These are the things that headhunters do every day to make a living. They work if youre just willing to try a few new things. I know some of you are saying to yourself I dont think I can do this stuff, or Sounds a little scary to me. If your stomach gets a little queasy the first time you cold call a hiring manager to pitch your credentials, youre just like every other headhunter in his first year on the job. Ill tell you a closely guarded secret though, that feeling never entirely goes away. The only difference between the top dog headhunters and the ones that cant cut it are that the top dogs acknowledge their fear of the phone, consider the ramifications of giving in to that fear, and overcome it every day. Roger Ailes says in his book, "You Are the Message." "It's a mental process to overcome stage fright. You have to say, 'I have a right to be here. What I have to say is of value to this audience. I am an authority on this subject.'" Mr. Ailes goes on to say, "Interestingly, courage isn't the absence of fear. It is action in the presence of fear." If youre willing to take action, despite your fear of doing some new things, youre well on your way to finding your next big opportunity. Dieters : When You Feel Like Quitting

By Janice Elizabeth Small As the saying goes "Quitters never win and winners never quit!" but sometimes it's hard to keep going when you can't see the light at the end of the tunnel and you know there's a long road ahead. If you're wavering in your latest weight loss goal, ask yourself these questions before you throw in the towel. If you are able to step back and understand what is going on, it will help you to adapt your approach a little, and then get back on track with renewed enthusiasm. So ask yourself:-
Why do I want to lose weight? What will achieving my aims give me?
How will I feel if I quit?
Am I always quitting before I reach my goal? Why?
How will I feel if I succeed?
What is making this so hard?
What have I been doing (or not doing) to make this more difficult or less successful?
What's working ok?
What do I need to change?
What do I need to learn?
What strategies could I use to get back on track?
How can I adapt this to make it work for me?
How could I get more support?
What will help me keep going?

I Will Tolerate You; but Respect Must be Earned

By Lance Winslow Many people demand respect, but how can you give respect to someone you don't know. Now the politically correct crowd will say you must treat everyone with respect. Baloney. I will not treat someone with respect will walks around town wearing gang attire. I will not treat someone with respect who disrespects their spouse in my presence. I will not treat someone with respect who eyewitness flipping someone else off on the freeway. I will not treat someone with respect who sits in a podium and tells the television that they will fix all my problems by making another law. I will not treat someone with respect who says that they are class-action lawyer at. I will not treat someone with respect who I see littering on the street. I will tolerate these people only so far as the law protects them from my wrath. But do not expect me to respect them. If you choose to respect criminals in people who disrespect all we are and all we have built in this great nation than that is your own concern not mine. I reserve my right to not respect those who do not respect with this great nation stands for. I will tolerate those with the different point of view, who were different than me, who have a different belief system and I will respect them as individuals once I get to know them and I am assured that they do deserve my respect. But do not tell me who, I must respect. I will leave it up to my own experiences and observations of some 40 years of people watching to choose who I respect. For the rest of you I will tolerate you until you show me through achievements, selfless acts of kindness or commitment to a cause of your choosing his long, as it does not hurt anyone else. Do not demand respect, earned it. Do not expect me to respect you for something in that you have not done yet. I am from Missouri; show me. Until then I will tolerate your presence and leave it open door for you to earn that respect. Consider this in 2006. "Lance Winslow" - Online Think Tank forum board. Basic Fishing Equipment - Beginner's Guide

By Malabika Mukherjee Be it a warm summer morning or a cold wintry afternoon, you can never fail to see a fishing line or two while passing a lake or a stream. Fishing is a habit close to addiction for those who have the flair and skill for it. Ask any seasoned angler what it takes to land up with a good catch and hell promptly tell you that it is sheer instinct and logic mixed with basic common sense. With a lot of practice and experience, you get to know which rod and reel is best suited with which line and in what kind of rig. Matching all the fishing tools properly goes a long way in making a fishing experience both enjoyable and productive. Now let us go through the checklist of fishing equipment for the benefit of beginners. The list includes the following basic tools: Fishing rod
Hook
Line
Reel
Float/bobber
Sinker
Lure Before getting into the nitty-gritty of the best combination of the above-mentioned equipment for good fishing experience, let us discuss briefly the different varieties of each tool available in the market. Fishing rod: In modern times, a fishing rod is manufactured to allow the angler to feel the bite of fish. The rod shaft is termed as blank. The blank is usually made of graphite, fiberglass, or other material depending upon its actions. The action of these blanks can be light, medium, medium-heavy, and heavy. The actions of the tip of the blank are called regular, light, and extra light. When the guides and handles have been assembled onto the blank, we get a complete fishing rod. Depending on the type of fish you are out to catch, you can choose a rod based on its blank. Most of the new graphite rods are light in weight and are balanced at the reel seat (i.e., when you set the rod handle on your finger with the reel attached, the rod should balance equally from tip to the end of the handle). The guides (or eyes) fitted on the rod help in transmitting signals to the rod so that the angler can feel the fish biting on the bait. The guides should be clean and in prim condition to allow optimum performance of the rod. When choosing handle length, think of your comfort level. If you are on high ground, then a 7-foot rod can be a good choice so that you can cast farther. However, if the ground is low, then a shorter rod will make it easier for you to flip, cast and spoon fish. For bass fishing, light action rods are a definite no-no as it takes some effort to pull a bass out whereas for small bait-fish, you need an extra fast action blank tip to prevent the fish from making desperate movements. Hence it is clear that you must choose your rod based on your catch. Hook: Hooks are needed to allow the angler to use the bait and help the bait to stay on longer, thus increasing potential chance of a catch. Hooks can be chosen according to the size of the fish from juvenile to adulthood. Hooks come in a wide variety of colours, metal treatments and finishes. Some are better suited for salt-water applications while others perform well in freshwater. There are certain hooks that are invisible under certain light conditions whilst differences in water colour and distinct clarity may be the requirement for other types of hooks. The most popular and widely used varieties of hooks are: Octopus hook Most common, it is an octopus-like strong tapered shank hook with a turned up tapered eye, wide open mouth and moderate depth throat. The curved-in point in this pattern is extremely sharp and penetrates readily. Mostly used for snappers. Long shank hook This has a kerbed parabolic bend, shallow bite, either a short curved-in point or a modified hollow point. This is used in case of fast-biting fish and ideal for kids to handle. Circle hook pattern This one commonly has an extra strong forged shaft with a wide circular or squared-off bend narrowing to an exaggerated re-entrant point. This has a deep penetration point. This is very popular amongst game fishers. Ganging hook This usually has the turned down, open eye Kendall Kirby pattern with a medium length flexibly formed wire shaft, in sizes ranging from 1/0 to 6/0. The open eye is intended to be used to combine two or three ganging hooks to form a ganged set depending on the size of bait. The ganging hook is ideal for whole baits like garfish and when the bait is being smashed against rocky terrain. Southern and tuna hook This is heavily forged with the rod tapering to a brazed ring and the circular bend with its knife edge point drawn inwards toward the rod. This type of hook, once lodged into the mouth of a fish is difficult to dislodge. This is popular with game fishers. Line: From the anciently used piece of cotton string, fishing lines have evolved to a much fancier version in the present day. Braided lines are still sometimes used in saltwater for big fish, but most anglers use monofilament lines called the new super lines. Monofilament comes in basically two types a flexible, or limp, line that has some stretch, but seldom recoils or snaps when cast and left on the reel for a long time. The other is more abrasion resistant, less stretch and usually retains some memory and tends to hold a coil when it's been on the reel for a while, thus increasing the chance of a backlash. Braided line has a smaller diameter compared to monofilament for the same line size and is generally not taut. It is used for flipping (placing the bait quietly in a given spot using an underhand cast, without disturbing the water, while holding the rod with the other hand)and pitching (putting worms or jigs into cover at close distances using underhand pendulum motion) where high strength and good abrasion resistance is needed. In case of bream fishing, a light-weight line of 4-8 pounds will suffice whereas with bass fishing, 6-12 pounds (or even 12-24 pounds) is required. Tying a good knot in the line to hold the hook is essential. The basic knots used by anglers are: Clinch, Palomar (simple knot for terminal tackle), Uni (also known as the Hangmans knot) and Loop (can be easily tied at night with minimum effort). Reel: Reels have come a long way from the old direct drive, sleeve-bearing to the sophisticated ones found in modern times. They come in four basic types, the simplest of them being the closed-face spinning reel, which is operated by a push button and helps protect against getting tangled when you cast the rod. Next comes the open-face spinning reel which helps in casting the line a little further. The size of the reel depends upon the weight of fishing line. Another reel type is the bait-casting reel. These reels have some kind of a braking system, (either magnetic or centrifugal) to help slow the spool and control backlash problems. The more the number of ball or needle bearings in the reel, the more costly it turns out to be. The fourth type of reel is the fly-fishing reel. A fly reel is not cast, and is mainly a place to store the line and keep it free from tangles. Line is pulled from the reel, and the rod is waved overhead to work the line out. Float/bobber: Floats are used by anglers for two distinct purposes to insert the bait at the surface or a specific depth under the water level, and as a bait indicator showing whether the fish is at the bait or not, allowing the angler to know when to strike and set the hook. They can be used for both fresh-water as well as salt-water experiences. Floats come in a wide shapes and sizes with different levels of buoyancy. Some commonly used varieties of floats include: bobby cork and casting float (used for casting large baits over greater distance. Provide minimum wind resistance and sits on water with stability. Used by land-based anglers and sport anglers); bubble float (clear plastic float used for freshwater fishing in clear, least turbulent water); pencil float (a centre spindle pierced through the center of a cork, this can be used as a fixed float at a predetermined depth or as a running float at an adjustable depth. Provides minimum resistance to the fish when biting at the bait, so angler can time the strike to set the hook); quill float (it is very long, narrow and incredibly light consisting of attachment clips and snaps. Being light, fish feels no resistance from surface while taking the bait and the angler can take time to strike to set the hook); cork and homemade float (cork being inexpensive, tough and featuring the flexibility to be cut into various shapes and sizes makes it ideal for using it to make homemade floats). Sinker: The primary utility of a sinker is to present and hold the bait or lure at a particular depth beneath the surface of water. The various types of sinkers are: ball, barrel, bean, split shot, snapper lead, tear drop, star, and spoon (used for ease of retrieve of fish). The ball, barrel, and bean sinkers are mainly designed to allow a degree of movement. These types of sinkers can be used in all kinds of water, still or turbulent. Whether at the bottom of the water surface or at mid-water, a fish can move off with them without feeling the weight of the line. Split shot sinkers are similar to ball sinkers, but mostly used in calm or least turbulent water. These sinkers can be used with different weighing configurations. Split shots can be used for catching small finicky fish feeding at particular depths with a lot of ease. Snapper leads and tear drop sinkers are mainly used for deep-sea fishing with heavier lines. These provide the advantage of holding the bait vertically even in strong currents. They are also used as surf casting sinkers. Star sinkers are primarily used for surf, beaches and estuary usage supporting moderate to heavy lines. These sinkers provide great horizontal stability to the baits due to their star- pyramid shape and heavy bodies. These can be used in strong currents. Lure/flies: Lures are colourful, artificial plastics or metal shapes used to attract the attention of the fish by simulating the look and movement of their natural prey, to fool them into believing these can be eaten, or even to challenge their territorial instincts. Lures are available in various shapes, sizes and colours catering to the various needs of an angler. The common lures are minnow types (look like small fish with metal or plastic bib, Ideal for nearly all casting and trolling purposes), soft and scented plastics, metal lures and slices (heavy replicas of bait-fish, ideal for fishing off beaches and rocks), surface poppers (cigar-shaped, suitable for surf, trolling and estuary usage), skirted trolling lures (designed to be tough and used for salt water game-fishing), jigs (heavy-weight fast sinking lure meant for lifting and dropping the lure repeatedly by hand or by rod and wind action from the side of a boat or jetty. They are useful for catching tuna, mackerel and kingfish), squid jigs (squids used as baits for catching snapper or gummy sharks), celtas and insect spinners (for fresh-water fish like trout and red fin). Flies are used for replicating natural behaviour of aquatic insects on which fish feed in water and with their subtle movement and placement, can be used to trick the fish to rush towards the bait or to challenge their natural territory. Different types of flies and aquatic insects have their habitats at different levels of water. Depending on which fish feeds on what type of insects, flies can be presented as live baits at that level of water column to bait that particular variety of fish. Flies can be categorized into wet fly, dry fly, Matuka and salt water fly collections depending on the surface they can be located at. Finally for the beginner, the affordable and least complicated combination of fishing equipment would be a Zebco 33 rod and reel package. It comes with a 10-pound line meant for most small and medium sized fish. The other basic tackle thatll be required are size #6 or #8 live bait hooks, a couple of crappie rigs, a few 1/4-ounce and 3/8-ounce bell sinkers, a small cork or float. For a less messy experience, you could stock up the following artificial tackles a package of 1/0 offset worm hooks, some 3/16-ounce bullet worm weights and a package of 4-inch watermelon and pumpkinseed Venom worms called Slammers, one or two 1/8-ounce shad pattern spinner baits and a couple of 1/4-ounce chrome/blue back lipless crank baits. For crappie, perch and sand bass, you need a few small white and bright yellowish-green jig hooks with the same color small grubs (short plastic worms). These tools will not be too expensive, but will be enough for the basic tackle to lure a wide variety of species. Getting the right combination of equipment and choice of bait comes with practice and experience, and as you try your luck with a variety of fish in different weather conditions and seasons, you can soon master this skill. Until then happy fishing! Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Malabika_Mukherjee http://EzineArticles.com/?Basic-Fishing-Equipment---Beginners-Guide&id=331109 free online valium

Freelancing In a Free World

By Parveen Panwar Freelancing brings unmatched flexibility and in fact this is
one of the most popular reasons for becoming a freelancer. Flexible working hours allows the freelancer to tailor his/her work around their life style and growing responsibilities. Another plus is that you only get paid for how long you work overtime is actually paid! Furthermore, if you like to set your own holiday and travel time, freelance allows you the option to go on holiday two weeks, or two months depending on your financial/business needs. Freelance work is also an excellent way to earn quick money and a good amount of it. Generally, freelance workers earn more money at an hourly rate than their
permanent counterparts. Because the recruitment process for freelance is much shorter then for permanent roles, speedy turnaround allows individuals to get in and out of a project quickly and still receive a good income from it. Career Variety For those individuals who like variety in the workplace, a career as a freelancer enables professionals to work on a wide range of projects for some of the leading firms in the country. Freelance work can often improve career
prospects allowing an individual to gain valuable experience on many different sector schemes while working for a variety of major companies. Another motivating factor is the desire to test drive a company before committing to a permanent position. Freelance gives the candidate the opportunity to see if a particular company works for them without any long-term commitments on their part. Recognizing that this has become a preferred option for many workers, firms are now opting to initially employee candidates on a freelance basis
rather then putting them through the traditional probationary period of a permanent role. Freelance can be a good option for those who want to have more control over their working environment. A highly competitive market means that there is no shortage of contracts for an individual to choose from allowing for greater choices in where you want to work, the type of firm you want to work for, and the rate at which youll work certainly a tempting proposition for many candidates in any industry. Choosing A Freelancing Career Freelance can be a great career move whether done independently or in conjunction with an existing fulltime job. There are three main points to consider when making a decision to head down this particular career path. Firstly- salary: freelance workers on average do receive a reasonable rate of
pay. Firms realise that they have to pay more for better solutions. With the increase in the temporary market has come a rise in options for salary payments. However, it is important to remember that freelance salaries are subject to extreme fluctuation often a case of feast or famine. Therefore, it is crucial that jobseekers be able to plan ahead making preparations well in advance to compensate for an uncertain income, lack of benefits, moving location or travelling expenses. Secondly a freelancer must be able to accommodate an uncertain work environment. Freelance work often involves an extensive amount of travelling/relocating. The roles that are often offered may not always be the ideal choice for the candidate, but sometimes have to be taken due to income
necessities. They must also be able to accommodate the company culture in their new job, and be flexible enough to adapt to new work practices and environments. Finally, situation it is important for new freelancers to consider their future in realistic and planned way. Training and promotions are not often available to freelancers as many companies dont perceive a temporary employee as a long-term investment. Consider your career goals will freelance help you to achieve these goals will it work against or work for your current lifestyle
and future aspirations? The Smart Choice Freelancing and consulting are great ways to explore various career paths and revenue streams. Performing this kind of work on the side can be fulfilling, exciting and fun. Mattress Shopping: Latex Anyone?

By Mike Lowe One may not think of this topic much because it may seem trivial on the surface, but the mattress industry is highly dynamic, with changes happening all the time as well as new innovations coming onto the scene. Case in point, in recent years a type of material has become very fashionable in terms of it's function- latex mattresses. It seems like if you were to interview the leaders of the mattress industry, they would tend to nod their heads and agree that this is where the future is headed. With latex material mattresses, there aren't any movable parts and therefore it wont' break as easily. Latex mattresses also tend to last as far as it's contours and shape is concerned relative to other types of mattresses. Usually latex mattresses have warranties that cover it from breaking down in any significant way. For example if latex mattress goes down by about an three quarters of an inch, many stores will actually replace your latex mattress. For other mattresses such as coil based ones, the warranty will cover mattresses that go down by an inch to an inch and a half in some cases. That is a basic introduction to latex based mattresses, feel free to discover the difference for yourselves. What Not To Do If Your Partner Leaves You And You Want Another Chance

By Mark Webb As a therapist, I regularly counsel with men and women who are suffering with a broken heart. They tearfully plead their sincerity. Unfortunately, their fear often takes the lead of their focus and they switch to merely trying to figure out the formula or combination to get their partners to take them back again. They would rather get their own way versus doing the right thing. Be mature. Be consistent. Follow this advice. * Don't Rally the Troops. This means don't go around and talk with all of your partner's friends, family, co-workers and worst of all, your religious leader. Men are especially prone to do this. This is a form of emotional manipulation based on guilt and shame and tends to only push your partner further away. * Don't Fish For Reassurance. This no-no is a search for a ray of hope from the words "I love you too". Don't bait your partner with the proclamation "I love you". This forces them to respond with "I love you too" which they don't want to say. They may not give any response, which really hurts. * Don't Repeatedly Ask Your Partner To Come Back To You. Each time you ask you are usually setting your chances back for another week. * Don't Call. Don't Drive By. Don't Show Up At Their Work. Exercise a lot of restraint. This is very hard but it is crucial. * Don't Try To Figure This Out By Yourself. Get a therapist or an equivalent to help you process your feelings and to develop the best approach. Telling everyone the business of your relationship will only undermine your goal and most likely make you look stupid. * Don't Try To Be A Detective. Snooping around is a violation of their personal space. Don't go through their dressers, their e-mail, or their car. Just because they aren't feeling close to you doesn't mean that there is someone else. * Don't Send Your Best Friend As Your Ambassador. This approach works better than you going but you have to consider that you are only trying to gain leverage versus respecting their need for space and time. * Don't Try To Make Them Jealous. If you do this you are playing games and not seriously making an effort to hear the needs of your partner. You're also playing with other people's emotions. * Don't Talk Bad About Your Partner. Saying negative things about your partner or trying to get people to side with you by telling your partner's faults or private matters is unforgivable. * Don't Display Temper Tantrums. A lot of people use aggression to get their way but this reinforces your partner's notion of why they left in the first place. * Don't Use Children As Pawns. Children are effective tools to play with your partner's heart. However, this does damage to the children and your partner will grow to hate you. Stop trying to get your way and begin doing the right thing. * Don't Be Inconsistent. Mark Webb is the author of How To Be A Great Partner and founder of Partner Focused Relationships. The Irrationality Of Islam

By Luigi Frascati Had Pope Benedict XVI omitted the citation of Emperor Manuel II Paleologus' remarks about the Prophet Muhammad bringing only what is "evil and inhuman" to the world, a quote he himself admits was marginal to his argument, he would not have emphasized as clearly as he has done the focus of his central argument - that is modern secular rationalism needs to heed the contribution of faith to enable it to break out of the narrow confines of absolutism and fundamentalism. Which is specifically the problem with Islam, both as a religious doctrine and as a way of life'. To understand this point, Non-Muslims must focus on the difference between Islam and Islamism. Islamism is a set of political ideologies that holds that Islam is not only a religion, but also a political system that governs the legal, economic and social imperatives of the state according to its interpretation of Islamic Law. For Islamists, the sharia has absolute priority over democracy and universal human rights. The terms "Islamist" and "Islamism" are used often in several publications within some Muslim countries to describe domestic and trans-national organizations seeking to implement Islamic Law. There is intense debate in the Muslim world about the differences between Islam and Islamism. The controversy is rooted in differing answers to questions about how Muslims should live, the sort of governments they should support, and the proper role of Islamic symbols, ideas, and tenets in the modern world. Those who are called Islamists argue that Islam is inherently a political religion, and that the rules and laws laid out in the Al Qu'ran and Hadiths mandate Islamic governments. In its bare essence, the substance of Pope Benedict XVI's argument can be summed up in the following syllogism: Islam is faith devoid of reason; modern secularism is reason devoid of faith; Christianity is a dynamic wedding of faith to reason. Both faith without reason and reason without faith can be very destructive. Ergo, both Islam and modern secularism should learn from Christianity the art of the mutual enrichment between faith and reason. Which, admittedly, sounds overall a little bit one-sided. That said, however, the phenomenal overreaction of Muslim leaders and masses around the world to the Pope's remarks proves once again that Muslims do indeed have a problem with rationality. It is not by rioting on the streets and calling for jihad and the destruction of the Holy See and, in fact, of all symbols of Christianity and Judaism that Muslims can hope to re-build their tarnished image as well as the proper civil institutions, which could have both the capability and authority to respond effectively and in a measured way to the challenges facing them today. Exaggerated reactions such as those to the Pope's speech or the ones involving the publication in the Danish newspaper Jyllands Posten some time ago of cartoons depicting and satirizing the Prophet Mohammed reflect the general inadequacy of the Islamic State and civil organisations, which lack both the authority and the effectiveness in dealing with the perceived challenges. They also reflect the deep ignorance of the Islamic masses and their aversion to anything and everything which they characterize as non-Islamic. The failures of Islam, as correctly pointed out by the Pope, are multi-faceted and stand in the fact that Islam - both as a religion and as a way of life - has failed to achieve many of its goals. Raising standards of living, ridding societies of corruption (corruption in all its manifestations, incidentally, is expressly forbidden by the Prophet), freeing people from chronic, centennial poverty, failure to allow freedom of thought and expression even in their basic forms and even protecting Islam from what Muslim scholars have dubbed a rampant Westernization'. It is not through its inveterate Western-phobia, anti-Americanism and utter dislike of Israel that Islam will ever solve its own shortcomings. But, above all, it is through the embracing and acceptance of jihad or holy war as a means to spread the faith that Islam manifests its own irrationality in its entirety. And this is specifically what the Pope was referring to when he cited Emperor Manuel II Paleologus' remarks, which were rendered within the wider context of the subject of Christianity and Islam, and the truth of both faiths. The message of the Pope was that faith is born of the soul, not the body. Whoever would lead someone to faith needs the ability to speak well and to reason properly, without violence and threats. To convince a reasonable soul, one does not need a strong arm, or weapons of any kind, or any other means of threatening a person with death. Contrast this message with the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad in the matter of spreading Islamic faith to the rejecters of truth (infidels) after truth has become evident to them: "Kill them wherever you find them and drive them out [of the place] from which they drove you out and [remember] persecution is worse than carnage. But do not initiate war with them near the Holy Kabah unless they attack you there. But if they attack you, put them to the sword [without any hesitation]. Thus shall such disbelievers be rewarded. However, if they desist [from this disbelief], Allah is Forgiving and Merciful. Keep fighting against them, until persecution does not remain and [in the land of Arabia] Allah's religion reigns supreme. But if they mend their ways, then [you should know that] an offensive is only allowed against the evildoers. A sacred month for a sacred month; [similarly] other sacred things too are subject to retaliation. So if any one transgresses against you, you should also pay back in equal coins. Have fear of Allah and [keep in mind that] Allah is with those who remain within the bounds [stipulated by religion]." (Qu'ran, 2:190-194) Quite a mouthful! Online Bachelor Degrees

By Christian N Online bachelor degrees are quickly becoming the most popular means for students to further their educations. The Internet is simply exploding with schools offering online bachelor degrees in many different fields of study. Now, getting a degree can be simple and convenient with an online bachelor degree program. If you have ever considered a degree and want to start or continue an education, then perhaps an online bachelor degree program is for you. Careful investigation of the various schools and programs offered would help you choose the right school for your education and career goals. Not all schools and programs that offer online bachelor degree programs are the same, so before enrolling, students will need to fully understand all course expectations. The Internet is changing the way many industries do business and the Internet has altered the way many students receive their educations. Now, a student no longer must attend a university class on campus and students can attend class and receive online bachelor degrees right at home, on their computers. There are many different methods used in online bachelor degree programs, and the primary source for online bachelor degrees is, of course the computer. Students "e-learn" from online classrooms that have live chat, message boards, and often videos. Some courses will require using live videos for lectures and teaching in synchronous format. There are hundreds of schools that advertise online bachelor degrees and study programs. There are some online bachelor degrees that are awarded by accredited schools. Programs that have been recognized by the U.S. Department of Education accredit most accredited schools. The course of study chosen, and the career field desired will help a student determine which school to choose, what courses to pursue, and how important an accreditation will be. Online bachelor degree fields are almost limitless. There are online bachelor degrees in health care, technology, business, education, and hospitality. Many more disciplines exist for online learning, so students should research and find a bachelor degree program that will accommodate their future careers. Education programs that offer an online bachelor degree are increasing, and perhaps because of the flexibility of theses programs. Students can easily access school studies and assignments online, from home. Students seeking an online bachelor degree can continue to work a full or part-time job if needed. Online learning also allows for students to raise a family, working on courses when it is most convenient. Studies are proving that online learning equips students for careers as well as the traditional classroom format has provided in the past. If you seriously want to further your education, browse the Internet today, and find an online degree program that will fit your education needs. A Jewelry Designer's Guide to Gemstone Bead Quality

By Adrienne Boerger The first section of this article will briefly introduce the ratings system for diamonds and precious/semi-precious gemstones. The second section will relate this to gemstone bead ratings; how the systems are similar and different and what this means to a designer of handcrafted gemstone jewelry. Diamond and Gemstone Ratings There is a significant, rigid and reliable rating system in place for diamonds and precious gemstones that are sold in the context of fine jewelry. Typical precious gemstones include rubies, sapphires, and emeralds. With respect to diamonds, the ratings system takes into account the four main properties of diamonds that are: 1) Carat, 2) Cut, 3) Color and 4) Clarity. Together these are referred to as the 4 Cs. Carat refers to the weight/size of the diamond and the cut refers to whether the proportions of the cut stone result in the best sparkle. A colorless diamond gets a higher rating than one with a more yellow color and diamonds with few imperfections or inclusions in the stone are rated the best for clarity. These four Cs can indicate the overall value of a diamond. In the case of precious gemstones (rubies, emeralds, and sapphires) and semi-precious (all other colored stones) the rating system is somewhat different. Precious and semi-precious gemstones vary in their hardness on a scale from 1-10. The hardness refers to the ability of the gemstone to be scratched by another gemstone of a given hardness. Diamonds are the hardest of all stones. Clarity is also an important factor in properly evaluating precious and semi-precious stones. In the case of translucent gemstones, a lack of inclusions generally translates into a clear, sparkling gemstone, therefore increasing its value. Many inclusions typically result in a milky or dull look and likewise decrease a gemstones value. Color can also play a factor in gemstone value in that a particular color is more rare, and is often more valuable as a result. For example, garnet comes in several different colors including red, burgundy, green and brown/amber. The green garnet is typically a more expensive gemstone due to its rarity. Gemstone Bead Ratings Beads that are polished, drilled gemstones used for handcrafted jewelry are rated using a similar, but a much simpler and less rigorous system. As described previously, the hardness of a gemstone plays a role in determining the overall value. This applies to gemstone beads as well. Beads are generally rated with a lettering system A-C where a rating of A is a higher quality bead than a rating of C. This system is often used to rate other types of beads, such as glass crystals as well. In addition to hardness, other features are considered such as color, clarity and also the polish (the quality of the finish). In addition, the quality of the hole drilling is important. Good quality beads will have symmetrical holes and the edges of the holes will also be smooth, not jagged. With respect to size, it is generally true that the larger the bead, the more it costs, however this is not always the case. It can be more difficult to polish many tiny beads, thus some of the smaller beads can actually cost more. Since semi-precious gemstone beads are often sold on temporary strands, another factor that is unique to buying beads is whether or not they are properly matched. The more similar in size the beads are, the better the strand will be rated. Unfortunately, not every bead manufacturer or retailer uses this, already imperfect, system the same way. It is important to keep this in mind when buying beads labeled AA or AAA. Beads that truly qualify for these ratings (and the price!) should have the following features: 1) attractive (or even rare) color, 2) translucent, clarity, 3) shiny, highly polished, 4) smooth symmetrical shape 5) evenly and completely drilled holes, and 5) accurate sizes. There are many beads on the market that are very nice and useful for jewelry making that do not necessarily qualify for an A rating. Beads with an AB rating or even a B rating are abundant on the market, and they serve a useful purpose as spacers or as a small component in jewelry where those beads are not necessarily the focus. The beads may have slightly asymmetrical shapes or a more opaque appearance. In some cases a bead reamer may be necessary to widen a hole that is incomplete. In conclusion, there are many similarities between the rating systems for diamonds, for precious and semi-precious gemstones used for making fine jewelry and the rating system for semi-precious gemstone beads. Many of the same factors are considered, however there is a little less rigor in the system when it comes to beads. As long as the beader is aware of the factors, it will be possible to find a reliable source for high quality gemstone beads. Dr. Adrienne L. Boerger has a Ph.D. from Harvard Medical School in Microbiology. In addition she is also a crafter who has dabbled in numerous crafts. Spinnerbait Tactics That Work

By Charles White How many fish have you missed? It is said you could be missing over half the fish that are coming after your spinner bait. Why? Because you're getting short strikes. There is one way to fix that situation and it's easy to do.....add a trailer hook! Maybe one trailer hook isn't enough, you can add two or even three. Yes three, Hank Parker says he uses up to three trailer hooks, if it's good enough for Hank then it's good enough for me. A lot of people think you put a trailer hook up on the spinner bait hook, that isn't the case. For best results, put the trailer hook down by the tip of the hook of the spinner bait, that allows for more natural movement and doesn't confine the hook. Think about it, if you're getting short strikes then they aren't going to hit the first hook anyway. Try this the next time you go out and see the difference. Charles E. White has fished for almost 50 years for bass from California to Florida. In his lifetime, it is estimated that he has caught over 6,000 bass. His biggest bass is a 12 pound 14 ounce that hangs on his wall in his office. Charles has fished with people who have never fished for bass before and taught them how to become successful anglers and also has fished with the Pros in Florida. His new website about fishing for bass is at:

Mortgage Broker Training Article- A Word On Success for Loan Officers

By Chad Weber A short observation on success... Having the opportunity to speak to thousands of mortgage brokers across the country has allowed me to pull out my "magnifying glass" so to speak. One of the things I have noticed is that there is a certain quality that separates those who are successful versus those who are not. During my weekly calls, I will speak to 50-75 mortgage brokers. Out of this number of lo's I will typically find 1 mortgage broker who is either already experiencing a level of success,or has the necessary mindset and tools to reach greater heights. Did you catch that? Only 1 person out of this group of 50-75 actually feels that he/she is experiencing success! This isn't meant to scare you or discourage you, it is only meant to illustrate a point. The secret to success in the mortgage industry has very little to do with your marketplace, personality or the company you work for. While these things certainly can make the job easier, they will not help you one bit if you do not possess that elusive "something" that seems to catapult a rare group of men and women to new heights. Are you ready to hear what this quality or "something" is? Ok then, here it is: They work..... You read this right. The main separation between those who are successful and those who are not is this group of individuals is willing to be proactive and make things happen! As "plain Jane" as this trait may seem, what did you expect? We all seem to constantly look for some glossy, super secret technique that will force success into our laps, when the answer is floating in front of our faces all along. See, I give away free materials, and campaigns, and techniques every single day. Yet, when I conduct follow-up surveys, I find that the vast majority of individuals who were so pumped up and excited about the information and techniques they learned, did absolutely nothing with the tools. We all know that this knowledge does us no good unless it is put into practice, so why this behavior? Why do we refuse to invest in ourselves? Why do we refuse to put the necessary time and energy into our business? Why do we fail to realize that sales and marketing is nothing more than communication; a form of processing and distributing information in an effective manner? I ask these questions because each and every one of us needs to take a look at ourselves, and decide to work ON our business instead of just working IN our business. The answers are out there staring us in the face. Whether you wish to be successful with refi's, builders, Realtors, equity loans etc. Nothing happens until you decide to do something. More energy is expended complaining about lack of success than actually doing something about it. Please don't read into this as a rant, but rather as a wake up call! There is so much talent out there that goes unrealized it blows my mind. Success can happen, and it can happen relatively quickly once we decide we want it bad enough to do something about it. Chances are you already possess a talent or potential that you have'nt even realized yet. Do you believe enough in yourself to uncover this talent? What is stopping you?
